This is a charity pro-bono project we recently designed for a new Elementary School in Gambia.

The project was started by the musician and author of Baby Father, a best selling book which became a TV drama/doc, he also founded Lewisham Single Fathers Association. The idea comes form his story of seeing a young boy in the Gambia unfolding a thrown away empty cigarette box , when asked what he was doing he answered that he needed paper to write on at school.

The building with a small budget, mostly raised in the UK from events and local self build volunteers evokes the unfolded cigarette packet in its roofline and is centered around an impluvium.
